Overview of the role:
We are seeking a Senior Trading Data Analyst (Performance) to join the Trading Analytics team at Betnacional. As the hub of innovation and cutting-edge reporting within the Trading function, Analytics plays a key role in driving performance across the Sportsbook. Reporting to the Head of Trading Analytics, the Data Analyst will be responsible for interpreting complex data sets to deliver actionable insights that support strategic decisions and enhance trading performance.
What you’ll do:
- Organise and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to trading performance.
- Apply statistical methods to evaluate trading performance, identify anomalies, and test hypotheses that drive sportsbook profitability.
- Use storytelling techniques to present data in an engaging and accessible manner, enabling stakeholders to easily grasp trends, patterns, and strategic implications.
- Create interactive and user-friendly dashboards that set the benchmark for excellence, meet the needs of the trading team and provide actionable insights for traders and other stakeholders.
- Support the development of smarter and more automated reports and models, required to keep pace with a competitive and evolving industry.
What you’ll bring:
We require a candidate who has achieved or is capable of the following:
- Degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Physics, or similar disciplines).
- Strong foundational knowledge and understanding of concepts in probability and statistics.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex datasets, identify key insights, and present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL highly desirable.
- Experience in data storytelling highly desirable.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Python or R is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skill set.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
