Why we need you

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will bridge the gap between high-level enterprise architecture and on-the-ground solution delivery. Embedded within technology delivery teams, you will provide hands-on guidance and leadership to ensure the architectural integrity of delivered products, aligning them with broader enterprise standards. You will play a critical role in shaping the architecture of products from conception to implementation, ensuring they meet both immediate technical requirements and long-term strategic goals. This role demands a blend of strategic oversight and practical expertise, making you a key player in driving the success of our technology initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect (EDA) to lead the design, management, and implementation of DigiOutsource's data architecture strategy. As an ideal candidate you should have a strong background in data management, database technologies, and large-scale enterprise systems. You will be required to lead the designing, developing and maintaining data models, enforce various governance frameworks (quality, data lifecycle), and guiding the organization in utilizing its data assets to drive business decision-making.

• Lead the development of the organization’s data architecture, ensuring it aligns with business objectives.
• Design and implement scalable and robust data models and data storage solutions
• Define and enforce data management best practices for data governance, security, and quality across the enterprise.
• Conduct data architectural reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Architect the integration of disparate data systems, including databases, data lakes, and cloud storage solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth data flow across various platforms and business units.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley).
• Implement data security protocols to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with business leaders, data scientists, engineers, and IT teams to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners and business units to align data architecture with business goals and objectives.
• Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies in data architecture, analytics, and cloud solutions.
• Maintain clear documentation of data architecture, policies, and standards.
• Provide training and guidance to teams on best practices for data management, usage, and analytics.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

• A proven track record of minimum 5 years practical experience as an Enterprise or Data Architect in a large organization, working within an industry standard Architecture Framework.
• Solid understanding of the practical implementation and use of architecture frameworks, patterns and principles to guide a large enterprise (SOA, DDD, Event-Driven, DataMesh)
• Strong proficiency in the use of solution diagramming tools (e.g. dbt, lucidchart, miro) and diagram types, using an industry standard notation, e.g. ERD, DFD, CAN
• Hands-on experience with modern technology stacks and cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of compliance and governance frameworks, such as ISO 27001, Sarbanes-Oxley, and GDPR.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, out of the box thinking
• Ability to challenge status quo
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

• Industry recognised Enterprise Architecture certification
• Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD)
• Deep understanding of Data Oriented Architecture (DOA)
• Understanding of Clean Architecture Principles
• Understanding of Lean Architecture within an Agile environment.
• Experience in the design of Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience in the design of Data Mesh Landscapes.
• Understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• A deep-rooted understanding of Infosec and Compliance guidelines.
• Experience with Agile and DataOps methodologies.
• Certification in relevant frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect
• Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
• Mentoring or leadership experience in technical teams.
