The Position:
FanDuel Sports Network is looking for an experiencedΒ Data Engineer to join the Technology team. Reporting to the SVP, Data and Analytics, this role will build data platforms and infrastructure to drive data-driven decision making.Β  Responsibilities for this role includes building new data platforms, optimizing existing data platforms improve existing tools to deliver data, develop ETL processes, ensure data quality and accuracy and collaborate with data scientists and analysts across the organization.Β  This role will enable the company and its partners to make more informed decisions quicker and more efficiently.Β  The ideal candidate for this role has a startup mentality, knowledge of common design platforms, self-organizing individual, expertise in SQL and Microsoft Fabric, strong understanding of data modeling and the ability to design and build data systems.Β 

This is an in-office role located in Southport, CT.Β 

The Game Plan:
(What you will do)

  • Design/Build data systems
  • Optimize current data systems in use
  • Develop ETL processes to take 3rd party data in-house
  • Work with data analysts to optimize data pipelines and tables
  • Clean and maintain precise data
  • Document and catalog various table definitions, queries and metrics to centralize and reuse work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Work with both internal and external organizations
  • Communicate regularly with data analysts and data scientists

The Stats:

(What to bring)

  • 5+ years of software experience in data engineering
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and other various Microsoft applications
  • Extensive knowledge in database design and optimization
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Solid communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable advanced knowledge attained through work experience and/or intellectual instruction.
