Do you want to combine sustainability, digitalization, and real business impact in your thesis project? At Bufab, youβll have the opportunity to make a real difference β while gaining valuable experience for your future career!
Β
Bufab is a global supplier of fasteners and technical components with a strong focus on sustainability, compliance, and digitalization. With upcoming EU regulations such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP), CSRD, and CSDDD, structured supplier data will become critical for compliance and competitiveness. Today, most supplier sustainability data (e.g., EUDR, CBAM, Scope 3 emissions) is collected manually, which is resource-intensive and prone to errors.
Bufab is now looking for students to explore how supplier data can be integrated directly into our systems through APIs or EDI, reducing manual handling and preparing for DPP requirements.
Β
The purpose of the project is to explore and design a pilot solution for supplier sustainability data integration, moving from static and often Excel-based collection to automated, system-to-system data flows. The goal is to build a prototype or feasibility study that demonstrates how supplier data could be structured and connected to support Bufabβs readiness for Digital Product Passports and other regulatory reporting needs.
π Map existing supplier data flows (Excel, questionnaires, reporting formats)
π Analyze upcoming requirements (Digital Product Passport, CBAM, EUDR, Scope 3)
π Explore integration options (API, EDI, other digital tools such as blockchain)
π Develop a prototype or feasibility study that can be tested within Bufabβs systems
Β
Bufab will use the results of your thesis to evaluate the feasibility of integrating supplier sustainability data directly into our systems. Your work will serve as a concrete foundation and potential prototype for our future Digital Product Passport readiness β and be a key part of our long-term strategy for digital compliance and sustainability.
