Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you are the critical bridge between raw data and business impact. You don’t just “move” data; you architect the systems that power decisions across our stores, ecommerce, and logistics across Singapore and APAC, ensuring our data is scalable, cost-effective and trusted. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and optimize large scale DBT projects, acting as the core point of contact for DBT across the region
• Design, build and optimize production-grade data pipelines and solutions to unlock data from web-scrapers, store operations, and ecosystem partners.
• Design, build and optimize CICD workflows to increase developer efficiency, improve cloud performance and manage AWS & GCP infrastructure 
• Collaborate with business teams to identify solutions, clarify requirements and improve existing tools. You help teammates develop a data driven mindset.
• Be an advocate and key contact for automation, data use and data driven decision making
• Actively contribute to the data / analytics engineering community

What You Need to Succeed

Experience & Expertise

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science & Analytics or other related fields
• Initial working experience as a data engineer, building production grade data pipelines and wrangling large amount of data with a focus on quality and scalability
• With relevant experience building APIs and small apps with Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks
• With relevant experience in build dashboards and BI solutions like Tableau or PowerBI
• Proven experience with Airflow and Databricks, also in Data Science & Machine Learning
• Experience with DBT is a huge plus
• Advanced proficiency in using Python and SQL skills - you are able to write modular, well documented and scalable codes
• Intermediate proficiency in using Spark (preferably pySpark) and SQL (Databricks, BigQuery)
• Solid experience with AWS and GCP, specifically with focus on cloud based data warehousing and data management
• DevOps and automation skills with Github or other CI/CD frameworks
